Welcome to TaskMate ("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring the security of your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains how TaskMate handles your data when you use our iOS application.

## Our Privacy Commitment

**TaskMate is designed with privacy at its core.** We believe that your tasks, projects, and personal productivity data should remain private and under your control.

### What Makes TaskMate Private:

## Information We Do NOT Collect

TaskMate does NOT collect, store, transmit, or have access to any of the following:

- ❌ Task content, notes, or project details
- ❌ Usage data or analytics
- ❌ Device identifiers (UDID, advertising ID)
- ❌ Location data
- ❌ Photos or file attachments you add to tasks
- ❌ Contact information
- ❌ Search queries
- ❌ Any other personal information

## How TaskMate Works

### Local Storage & iCloud Sync

**All your data stays with you:**

1. **Local Storage**: Your tasks and projects are stored locally on your device using Apple's Core Data framework.

2. **iCloud Sync**: When enabled, your data automatically syncs across your devices using Apple's CloudKit service. This sync happens directly between your devices through your personal iCloud account.

3. **No External Servers**: TaskMate does not use any external servers or databases. We cannot access your data because it never passes through our systems.

### What Data is Stored in Your iCloud:

When you use TaskMate, the following information is stored in YOUR iCloud account (not ours):

- Tasks (title, notes, status, priority, due dates)
- Projects (name, color, sort order)
- Tags (name, color)
- Reminders and notification settings
- Theme preferences
- File attachments (photos and documents you add)
- App settings and preferences

**Important**: This data is stored in your private iCloud container and is protected by Apple's security measures. We have no access to it.

## In-App Purchases

### Subscription Information

TaskMate offers premium features through in-app purchases:

- Monthly Subscription: $4.99/month
- Yearly Subscription: $39.99/year

### Payment Processing

All payment transactions are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do NOT:

- Store your credit card or payment information
- Have access to your payment details
- Process payments directly

Apple may collect certain information related to your purchases according to their privacy policy.

### What We Know About Subscriptions

The only information we receive from Apple about purchases is:

- Whether a valid subscription is active (yes/no)
- The subscription type (monthly/yearly)
- Purchase verification status

We do NOT receive:
- Your name
- Email address
- Payment information
- Purchase history details

## Notifications

### Local Notifications

TaskMate uses local notifications to remind you about your tasks. These notifications:

- Are generated on your device
- Do not send any data to external servers
- Require your permission to enable
- Can be disabled at any time in iOS Settings

### Push Notifications for iCloud Sync

TaskMate uses Apple's push notifications to trigger sync when data changes on another device. These notifications:

- Only notify the app that data has changed
- Do not contain any task content or personal data
- Are used solely for sync coordination
- Are handled entirely by Apple's infrastructure

## Third-Party Services

### Apple Services We Use

TaskMate integrates with the following Apple services:

1. **CloudKit** (iCloud Sync)
   - Purpose: Sync your data across your devices
   - Data: All task and app data
   - Privacy: Covered by Apple's iCloud privacy policy
   - Your Control: Can be disabled in iOS Settings

2. **StoreKit** (In-App Purchases)
   - Purpose: Process premium subscriptions
   - Data: Purchase verification only
   - Privacy: Covered by Apple's App Store privacy policy

3. **UserNotifications** (Reminders)
   - Purpose: Task reminders
   - Data: Task titles and times (local only)
   - Your Control: Can be disabled in iOS Settings

### No Other Third Parties

TaskMate does NOT use:

- ❌ Analytics services (e.g., Google Analytics, Firebase)
- ❌ Crash reporting services
- ❌ Advertising networks
- ❌ Social media integrations
- ❌ Third-party cloud storage
- ❌ Any other external services

## File Attachments

### Photos and Documents (Premium Feature)

When you attach photos or documents to your tasks:

- Files are stored locally on your device
- Files sync to your iCloud (if enabled)
- Files are not uploaded to our servers
- We have no access to your attachments

### Photo Library Access

If you choose to attach photos:

- You will be asked for permission to access your photos
- We only access photos you explicitly select
- We never access your entire photo library
- Permission can be revoked in iOS Settings

## Data Export

### Export Features (Premium)

TaskMate allows you to export your data to:

- PDF format
- CSV format
- JSON format

When you export:

- Files are created locally on your device
- You control where to save or share the files
- No data is sent to our servers
- Exported files contain only the data you choose to export

## Children's Privacy

TaskMate does not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13. The app is rated 4+ and is safe for all ages because:

- No account creation is required
- No personal information is collected
- No social features or chat
- No inappropriate content
- No third-party advertising

## Your Rights and Control

### You Have Complete Control:

1. **Access Your Data**: All your data is accessible within the app and your iCloud account.

2. **Delete Your Data**: 
   - Delete individual tasks or projects in the app
   - Delete all data by uninstalling the app and removing iCloud data

3. **Export Your Data**: Use our export features to download your tasks in PDF, CSV, or JSON format.

4. **Disable Sync**: Turn off iCloud sync in app settings to keep data local only.

5. **Disable Notifications**: Turn off notifications in iOS Settings.

## Data Security

### How Your Data is Protected:

1. **Device Security**: Your data is protected by your device's security features (passcode, Face ID, Touch ID).

2. **iCloud Security**: When synced, data is protected by Apple's iCloud security, including encryption in transit and at rest.

3. **No External Exposure**: Since we don't collect your data, there's no risk of a data breach on our servers.

4. **App Sandboxing**: iOS sandboxing prevents other apps from accessing TaskMate's data.

## Data Retention

### How Long Data is Kept:

- **Local Data**: Kept until you delete it or uninstall the app
- **iCloud Data**: Kept in your iCloud account until you delete it
- **Our Servers**: We don't store any of your data

### Deleting Your Data:

To completely remove your data:

1. Delete tasks and projects within the app, OR
2. Uninstall the app from all your devices, AND
3. Delete TaskMate data from iCloud:
   - Go to iOS Settings
   - Tap your name → iCloud → Manage Storage
   - Find TaskMate and delete its data

## Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect:

- Changes in the app's features
- Changes in legal requirements
- Improvements to clarity and transparency

When we make changes:

- The "Last Updated" date will be revised
- Significant changes will be communicated through the app
- Continued use of the app constitutes acceptance of the updated policy

## International Users

TaskMate is available worldwide. Your data is stored in your personal iCloud account, which may be stored in Apple data centers in various locations according to Apple's iCloud Terms and Conditions.

We do not transfer, store, or process your data outside of Apple's infrastructure.

## Legal Basis for Processing (GDPR)

For users in the European Economic Area (EEA), our legal basis for processing is:

- **Consent**: When you enable iCloud sync or notifications
- **Contract**: When you subscribe to premium features
- **Legitimate Interest**: To provide core app functionality

Under GDPR, you have the right to:

- Erase your data
